ACTING WORK

A proud Iowan, Shanara has worked all over the country – from prime time guest star roles to Shakespearean heroines, she brings professionalism, impeccable training, and an open spirit to every job she takes on. Shanara makes a mean bowl of popcorn, can whip up a delicious meal from an empty cabinet, and since she’s an aerialist, she can probably climb a rope faster than you can. Though she loves her work, when she’s not onset or in rehearsal, look for her to be road-tripping with her family, spending time in the sunshine, and coming up with thousands of ideas.

“…here comes Shanara Gabrielle with such style, grace and skill that her performance is as inspirational as the character she portrays. The transformation is arresting and shows just how deep Gabrielle’s acting well is dug. She is the very definition of “versatile actress.” Watch her eyes. There’s a life in there. It’s a smooth evening of theater and pretty to look at, but it is Gabrielle’s outstanding performance that lifts the play from simple to sublime.”

 – Alive Magazine

“…his fierce and brilliant wife Amy, Shanara Gabrielle, in a luminous performance…”

-DC Theatre Scene

“Perfectly holding the whole thing together is Shanara Gabrielle, a Yentl with an iron will to pursue her dream, and one who’s beautifully, quietly miserable over the compromises she has to make. Gradually, Ms. Gabrielle’s performance becomes the stuff of legends.

-Talking Broadway

“Shanara Gabrielle was another absolute standout… She commands the stage with grace and power, all while moving the plot along at the perfect pace.”

-Broadway World, Louisville

“With her Kewpie-doll face and solid, bone deep instincts on how to sell a comic song, Shanara Gabrielle has the chops of an old-school character actress.”

-St. Paul Pioneer Press
